A day-by-day plan for patients coming to Istanbul with spine complaints: arrival, examination day, and a calm city break before returning.
Arrival day: rest first
Avoid booking an appointment on the day of a long journey. Settle in, stretch your legs with a short walk and rest early — arriving fresh makes the evaluation easier.
Examination day flow
Gather images and reports in one folder. Additional imaging can often be completed the same day; keep the day flexible.
Moving between the two shores
Marmaray crosses beneath the Bosphorus in minutes, unaffected by traffic. The ferry is transport and a breather in one — a gentle alternative to long car rides for spine patients.
Calm routes on waiting days
Walkable calm spots include the Moda seaside, the Bebek-Arnavutköy line and Gülhane Park. Prefer short, frequent walks over long sitting.
Return planning
Buy your return after the plan is clear, or choose a flexible fare. Leave generous margin: 1.5-2 hours to IST from the European side, more to SAW with a bridge crossing.
